You can read cards without an account. Guest readings travel with the current ChatGPT conversation or browser tab in an encrypted reading capsule; Veil does not add them to its account database. The website uses session storage to restore your current guest reading and, if you choose Keep, carry it through sign-in. Closing the tab or clearing its storage may remove that local copy.
Only if you choose Keep and sign in do we save the question, cards, interpretations, reveal progress and timestamps to your private account history. Existing saved readings and older private notes remain linked to a Site-scoped ChatGPT user ID. The reading database does not store your name or email address.
When you use Veil in ChatGPT, ChatGPT sends the tool arguments needed for your request and receives reading content. Legacy private notes are excluded from model-facing results. Veil’s server makes no AI calls. Hosting and storage are provided by OpenAI Sites and Cloudflare; ChatGPT processes your conversation under OpenAI’s privacy policy.
Saved readings remain until you delete them. Ask ChatGPT to list your Veil readings or delete a specific reading; deletion requires your confirmation and removes that reading and its note. Veil has no advertising trackers and does not sell reading data. We do not promise end-to-end encryption or a particular storage region.
